Wiley Ezell has been umpiring high school baseball since 1985. In 1990, he had a heart attack and double bi-pass surgery. But that didn’t keep him from doing what he loved which was umpiring and just being around baseball in general. But it did get him to thinking – AND researching!  He knew there had to be something out there that could help him stay warm during the cold days of the high school baseball season, AND keep him cool in the hot Louisiana summer ball seasons. After experiencing two heat-related incidents on the field, he was even more convinced that these products were desperately needed. When he couldn’t find anything on the market that would work for him, he decided to formulate his own products.

This led to the birth of Delta Gear, and its first product, the V-Pac. The V-Pac is a 4-pack personal heating AND cooling device that keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  Delta Gear’s newest product, the Cool Neck, is an easy-to-use neck wrap that can be frozen in the freezer or immersed in ice to keep you refreshingly cool.

Though its beginnings were mainly for the baseball field, Delta Gear products have proven themselves in all types of sports, as well as just about any outdoor activity or inclement work environment.
